GITFiC, varsities embark on initiative to integrate AfCFTA into curriculum
The Ghana International Trade and Finance Conference (GITFiC) together with Ghanaian universities have embarked on an initiative to integrate the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) into tertiary education curriculum.
Under the leadership of Dr Edwin Alfred N.O Provencal, chairman of the GITFiC-AfCFTA Tertiary Students Club, a team of esteemed academic consultants has been assembled to draft courses tailored to each member state’s specific needs.

Accra, Feb 26, GNA – The Ghana International Trade and Finance Conference- GITFiC has attributed the depreciation of the Ghanaian cedi against the major trading currencies to repatriation of profits by foreign-owned companies than ever.

The Ghana International Trade and Finance Conference (GITFiC) has raised concerns about the depreciation of the local currency despite several interventions by government.
The Cedi is said to have depreciated marginally in the first quarter of 2024 despite a strong showing in 2023.
Dr Provencal chairs GITFIC-AfCFTA Tertiary Students Club
Dr Edwin Alfred Obodai Provencal has been outdoored as the Chairman of the Ghana International Trade and Finance Conference GITFIC-AfCFTA Tertiary Students Club.
Dr Provencal, whose tenure as chairman for the tertiary students’ club took effect from February 1, 2024 to February 1, 2025.

Since March this year, GITFIC has so far inaugurated the GITFiC-AfCFTA Students Club at the Tertiary Level in both public and private Universities.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, will lead government’s delegation to the 7th Ghana International Trade & Finance Conference to be held at the Royal Senchi Hotel and Resort.
The Conference is scheduled for the coming weekend, from Friday, May 26 to Sunday, May 28.
Ms Ayorkor Botchwey is expected to deliver the keynote address on behalf of the Republic of Ghana.
“She is expected to lay emphasis on the Prospects of Africa’s Single Currency, Ghana and Africa’s Industrialization Agenda and the role the AfCFTA will play in these prospects,” a press release from GITFiC said.

The Volta River Authority has partnered with the Ghana International Trade & Finance Conference (GITFiC) to distribute about 1,000 copies of the latter’s book on the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
The VRA, after several correspondence, acquired and took delivery of the copies of in its quest to support GITFiC’s National and Continental Sensitization and Education of the AfCFTA through the Ghanaian education system.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana International Trade and Finance Conference (GITFiC), Selasi Koffi Ackom, has been in Namibia for the 2nd Discover Namibia Intra Africa Trade and Expo Conference.
Mr Koffi Ackom attended the Conference, his second, at the invitation of the Africa Economic Leadership Council (AELC).
While in Namibia, GITFiC’s CEO was welcomed and received at the State House by Ambassador Claudia Grace Uushona, the Executive Director to President Gottfried Geingob, and Daisry Mathias OBAL, the Presidential Advisor on Youth Matters & Enterprise Development.
GITFiC holds 1-day conference in Lome
The Ghana International Trade and Finance Conference (GITFiC) has successfully held its one-day conference in Lome, Togo.
The conference was held in partnership with the Togolese Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Consumption on Tuesday, August 22.
A Ghanaian delegation totaling 30 met with over 250 key stakeholders from Togo to conference on the AfCFTA and the PAPSS under the theme: ‘Enhancing Trade Relations between Ghana and Togo; Issues and Challenges related to Trade and the AfCFTA Market’.

The Ghana International Trade and Finance Conference (gitfic) has called for debt cancellation for Ghana to give the country some financial relief.
According to the gitfic, the growing public debt could dampen the growth of the country.
